Martin Thapelo Mashiane, a 14-year-old boy, was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Wednesday evening at approximately 19:30.
According to eyewitnesses, Martin and his friends were returning from a study group when a blue car stopped, and two men armed with guns instructed them to lie down. The assailants stole their cellphones, but Martin refused to hand over his iPhone 14 Pro Max, fearing his mother's wrath due to the phone's high value. Despite his friends being allowed to leave, Martin's bravery cost him his life, as he was shot twice in the head.
