Police officers were informed by the security guard that the ATM machine which was recently installed was bombed by unknown males in the early hours of Wednesday Morning.
The machine had no money loaded as yet. It’s alleged that the suspects approached the money machine and attached explosives.
A loud bang was heard in the early hours of the morning.
In recent months, several ATMs belonging to different banks were bombed at this area and no arrests have been made.
The area’s community patroller Ishmael Steenkamp says the community of Noordgesig is living in fear.
Steenkamp says there are gun shots going off almost every day in the Noordgesig area.
“The police are not helping us at all and the issue of unstable electricity supply in the area gives criminals an opportunity to execute their criminal plans in the dark. We’re pleading for help and an urgent intervention is needed in our area,”said Steenkamp.-#JoziFmNews
